About the Distinguished  Speaker:

Carlos da Costa
Chief Representative

Foreign Office, Washington DC

Prior to his current position, he was Deputy Minister for Productivity and Competitiveness, responsible for leading economic reforms for the Brazilian productive sector. Formerly, he was Managing Director of Planning, Products, Credit and Technology at the Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES), President of the Institute of Performance and Leadership, Executive in Residence at JP Morgan and founder of Ibmec Educacional. Carlos Da Costa has a vast academic experience, having been a professor of Economics, Strategy and Leadership at Ibmec, UERJ, FGV and Thunderbird. He has led research studies in several areas such as "Economics and Regulation", "Foreign Investment", "Sectoral Regulation", and "Economic Reforms".

Da Costa has a B.A. in Economics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with a master's degree and Ph.D (ABD) in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
